The Cause and Events mission is twofold: partnering with non-profits to host fundraising events, and utilizing my passion and talent for event planning to accommodate life’s celebrations within the comfort of your own home or office.

After 35-years in the hospitality industry, I have come to realize that my life goal is creating memories one event at a time. Whether it is a birthday, shower, anniversary, or corporate lunch, etc., my philosophy is that the best events provide guests with good food, and a pleasant atmosphere; and there is no better atmosphere than your own home. As a mother of 3, I have spent many years assisting PTOs, youth programs, and sports teams by raising funds through sales and event based fundraisers. I define myself by my ability to think of the “big picture”, and this translates to everything I choose to be apart of. My own family knows me as the “fun-provider” and with this company I am looking to bring the fun to others.

It is with enthusiasm that I write on behalf of Laurie Shea. Laurie and I met five years ago. My non-profit organization, The Abundant Table, Inc. was in need of a successful fundraiser to generate monies to maintain operational efforts. I was told that Laurie had “an idea” that she was eager to implement as a fundraiser for the right organization. I was lucky that she believed in my organization’s mission and was willing to join the team to make her fundraising dream a reality.

The fundraiser, called ‘The Ultimate Team Challenge’, gave community members the opportunity to form teams and compete in a series of physical, mental, and team-based field day/obstacle course activities. In order to participate, teams had to raise $5,000. The event raised over $30,000 for Abundant Table, more money generated in a single fundraiser since the organization’s inception in 2003.

The event was an incredible success, and for that, I am grateful. When I think of Laurie, and her contribution to this event, I am reminded of a few things. First, Laurie is a visionary. She is willing to think big, utilizing all creative juices to push limits, try new things and “go for it”. Second, she is a doer. Laurie rolls up her sleeves to get the job done, and has a very strong worth ethic, determination and dedication to the cause. Third, Laurie is very well connected. Due to her community relationships, she was able to bring people together to support this effort. She’s not afraid to ask people for support, and has a knack for getting people to willingly join her team due to her warm personality. Lastly, Laurie has a big heart. She believed in the mission of my organization and did all she could to raise a lot of money so people had access to free hot meals. She cared about the mission, the people and making a difference. Laurie is very likable and fun; and when working with her, you know you have a teammate who’s all in, willing to work hard and do whatever is necessary to get the job done!

Laurie is great and I know she will have incredible success with her new business venture! I wish her all the luck in the world.

The Willett Early Childhood Center was in search of fundraising opportunities to help support school programs.

I knew Laurie could help us. With an incredible vision, amazing ideas, and unrelenting energy, Laurie developed and brought to fruition a hugely successful event, The Character Breakfast, which was enjoyed by families throughout town, while helping to support our PTO. She made the whole process look simple, and was so easy to work with!

Creative, enthusiastic, and fun, Laurie has an innate ability to make things happens. She understands her target audience and leaves nothing to chance as she plans an event sure to be memorable and successful for everyone involved. Laurie is amazing! So proud to call her my friend!
